How it Works

The SmartChem® 800 Series uses a direct-read photometric measurement system powered by a dual-beam UV/Vis spectrometer and reusable technical-polymer cuvettes. This true discrete analysis architecture ensures stable, accurate results while minimizing reagent consumption and eliminating the limitations of batch-based systems.

SmartChem® simplifies your laboratory workflow through a short, fully automated sequence:

  1. Load samples and reagents into the SmartChem® : Configure up to 800 samples and 100 reagents, with model-dependent cooling options for long, unattended runs.
  2. Set up your test parameters: Choose from a large library of validated methods, or import existing SmartChem® method files.
  3. Load your workplan in SmartChem® Pro: The software automates dilution, calibration, QC, conditional steps, and reagent management.
  4. Launch your routine and walk away: True random access allows urgent samples to be added at any time without interrupting ongoing work.
  5. Get the results automatically: Fully traceable outputs are delivered to your LIMS for seamless data integration.

Additionally, SmartChem® cuvettes are being washed after each use, making them available for the next reaction/measurement and reducing your dependence on consumables and their availability.

With a capacity for up to 800 on-board samples and 100 reagent positions, the SmartChem® 800 Series delivers high-throughput automation for laboratories seeking robust performance and long walk-away autonomy. Its filter-wheel optical system provides 9 on-board wavelengths, expandable to 16 via an optional filter set, ensuring high-precision photometric analysis fully compatible with the global SmartChem® method library.

Developed, tested, and validated by our applications laboratory, they ensure excellent stability and reproducibility for your analyses.

Supplied as ready-to-use liquids in SmartChem®-compatible bottles, these reagents are easy to handle and can be automatically identified by the optional barcode reader. This “ready-to-go” solution streamlines preparation, simplifies daily operation and storage, and helps secure your results with chemistries perfectly matched to both your applications and your instrument.
