Job Summary

The Controller is a critical member of the KPM North America Senior Management Team that will report to and closely partner with the General Manager of KPM North America. The position is responsible for all aspects of GAAP accounting, the control environment, budgeting, and financial analysis, and reporting. Further, the Controller is expected to be become a high-level user of the Company’s NetSuite ERP system and drive cross-functional continuous improvement projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish credibility and strong working relationships with the Senior Management Team and throughout all levels and departments of the organization
  • Together with the leadership team, cultivate a collaborative customer-first environment
  • Work throughout the organization to make operational improvements that will allow the business to achieve sales growth objectives while minimizing growth in operating expenses
  • Drive initiatives around the effectiveness of accounting processes and utilization of ERP/MRP and supporting databases
  • Succinctly communicate financial results and the financial implication of decisions
  • Contribute to and help direct all long-term strategic and annual operating planning activities
  • Prepare detailed budgets, capital plans, forecasts, cash flow projections, and other analyses
  • Prepare and perform required cost center and overall business reviews
  • Manage and mentor staff of three responsible for general accounting, payroll, accounts receivables, and accounts payable
  • Complete monthly accounting entries for more complex accounting areas
  • Ensure the development and execution of an appropriate control environment, including policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the integrity and accuracy of KPM’s financial data
  • Develop/Maintain analytical tools, analyses, and metrics essential to assessing business performance
  • Support integration of business development and strategic initiatives, new products, programs, and customers
  • Manage and ensure compliance with accounting, tax, and other regulatory guidance
  • Be the primary liaison for financial and other audit fieldwork

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting and 6+ years of financial experience, CPA is a plus
  • Specific experience either auditing manufacturing companies or working in an assembly manufacturing environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and desire to identify and lead continuous improvement efforts, particularly relating to streamlined business process and effective ERP utilization
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, analytical and problem-solving skills and proven experience in budget/forecast processes
  • Strong Office 365 skills, emphasis on Excel
  • Experience preparing and making presentations, including the presentation of financial information in a simple and easy to understand  
  • Must have extensive experience with integrated ERP systems. Netsuite and Planful (Host Analytics) are a plus
