The Senior Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the completion of their daily assigned assembly tasks while maintaining safety, quality, and delivery to the highest standard.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Electrical and mechanical assembly of instruments and sub-components.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other manufacturing personnel and engineers to support R&D and process improvement activities to meet production goals.
  • Perform programming, testing, and debugging instruments.
  • Work from written instructions, schematics, SOPs that provide detailed assembly operations, and assembly drawings. Provide input on creating new or updating instructions and SOPs.
  • Reads interprets and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Modifies and/or enhances part by using a variety of soldering techniques and hand and/or power tools, such as solder block, soldering iron, and various other hand tools.
  • Perform inspection and test of in-process and incoming materials as assigned.
  • Adhere to and follow company safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Complete and drive 5S/Lean Manufacturing actions in scope.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner ensuring OTD (On-time Delivery) of finished goods.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by abiding by policies and procedures.


  • 5+ years of electrical/mechanical manufacturing and assembly
  • 3+ years leading small teams in daily manufacturing and assembly activity
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and automation
  • Strong communicator and collaborator – experience in working closely with process development engineers
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Experience with SOPs, BRs, WIs required 


  • HS Diploma required. AS Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Use of small hand tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Soldering & wiring experience
  • Must be capable of comprehending written, visual and verbal instructions, and of writing accurate records
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. 

Work Environment

Location: Westborough, MA

Employees will be working in a manufacturing environment.  Tasks may require repetitive use of small hand tools, soldering, and other instruments. Tasks may require extended periods of sitting, standing, reaching, and walking.
