This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the sales of assigned brands to optimize profit and meet sales, financial, and corporate growth by performing the duties listed within. Duties and Responsibilities

  • The position of Technical Sales Manager requires 60% travel
  • Core duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Responsible for the sales of company’s products and services in their designated territory. Each territory has an associated sales objective.
  • Annually increases orders to match company’s growth objectives.
  • Maintains accurate knowledge of assigned product lines within assigned brands; product demonstrations; product installations; customer visits; routine technical support and consultation to the end user, sales quotations, cold calls, and support of local dealer networks and overall sales of growth of designated territory.
  • Responsible for the success of our products and services in this market
  • Drives specifications of our products and services
  • Acquires new customers by hunting for new opportunities across product portfolio
  • Thoroughly tracks project opportunities and establishes a winning strategy for receiving orders
  • Provides reports to management upon request

Experience

Two to four years related experience and/or training in capital equipment sales

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Education

College or university program certificate; Bachelor’s degree in science or Engineering preferred

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office environment.  Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking. Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling. Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching. Driving.

Typical on-site activities will be in manufacturing plants, food processing plants, chemical laboratories, and universities where personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while on-site. While performing customer on-site visits, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, climb ladders and cat-walks, and use hands and fingers to operate computers and analytical equipment.
